Our Approach
TransferNews welcomes specific, evidence-based corrections. When an article or database record is wrong, we review the underlying sources and update the affected content. Speed matters, but so does verifying the proposed correction.
Updates Versus Corrections
A new bid, denial, completed move or collapsed negotiation may be a normal development rather than an error in earlier reporting. We update the story and record status to reflect the latest reliable information.
A correction is required when content was inaccurate when published, materially omitted context, attributed a claim incorrectly, used the wrong person or club, or presented a rumour as confirmed fact.
Minor And Material Corrections
Minor Corrections
Spelling, grammar, formatting and small factual clarifications may be corrected directly where they do not alter the central meaning.
Material Corrections
Errors that substantially affect the meaning, status or interpretation of a story receive priority. Where appropriate, we add a correction or update note explaining the material change.
Transfer And Rumour Records
Corrections can affect more than an article. We may amend a player’s club, transfer direction, fee, transfer type, status, linked league, confidence score or source relationship. Related totals and profile pages may change when the canonical record is corrected.
We avoid keeping an active rumour open when the same move has been reliably completed, denied or superseded.
Report An Error
Email [email protected] with the page URL, the statement or field you believe is wrong, and a reliable source supporting the correction. Clear evidence helps us investigate faster.
Requests based only on disagreement or preference may not result in a correction. We assess evidence under our Editorial policy.
Review And Response
We prioritise errors involving the wrong player or club, false confirmation, materially incorrect fees, legal risk, or significant reputational harm. We may contact the person reporting an issue for clarification, but cannot guarantee an individual response to every submission.
