Arsenal are making significant progress in contract extension negotiations with Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, and Jurrien Timber, according to reports. The north London club is moving swiftly to secure the long-term futures of three fundamental first-team players as manager Mikel Arteta targets sustained success at the Emirates Stadium.
Timber leads breakthrough in triple extension drive
According to reports by TeamTalk, negotiations are most advanced with Dutch defender Jurrien Timber, 25. The broad principles of a new agreement are already in place, marking a successful turnaround for the versatile defender who has amassed 95 appearances for the club since recovering from an ACL injury sustained on his Premier League debut.
Securely tying down Timber is seen as a key step in Arsenal's squad-planning strategy under sporting director Andrea Berta. The move aligns with previous successful renewals for Bukayo Saka, who signed a contract worth a minimum of £300,000 per week, as well as William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Rice and Odegaard set for improved terms
England midfielder Declan Rice, 27, is also in line for a salary increase to reflect his status. Rice, who has made 102 Premier League appearances since his £105 million total package transfer from West Ham United in 2023, currently earns a reported £240,000 per week. His current contract expires in the summer of 2028 and contains a club option for an additional 12 months.
