Everton are interested in signing West Ham United striker Taty Castellanos as they search for attacking reinforcements, according to reports by Football Insider. The 27-year-old forward has also attracted interest from Fulham, though West Ham expect to retain the Argentine as they plan their Championship promotion campaign.
West Ham determined to keep Castellanos
West Ham signed Castellanos in January 2026 from Lazio for a reported £25 million, securing the forward on a contract until 2030 that includes a one-year club option. Despite the club's subsequent relegation from the Premier League, the hierarchy has made it clear that the striker remains central to their immediate plans. Speaking to West Ham World, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that the club held talks with Castellanos at the start of the summer to reiterate his importance to their promotion charge.
However, Jacobs added that from the player's perspective, he is "open to offers naturally because he joined the club thinking and hoping that they would secure their Premier League status, and they didn't." While West Ham are planning with Castellanos in their squad, a late market raid cannot be entirely ruled out if a substantial proposal is submitted.

Everton's interest in Castellanos comes amid a clear need to bolster their forward line. Former Everton scout Mick Brown, speaking to West Ham World, noted that the Merseyside club "could do far worse" than the Argentine, pointing out that Castellanos has already proven he can score goals in the Premier League even within a struggling team.
With Fulham also credited with interest in the player, West Ham's resolve is likely to be tested before the window closes. While West Ham prefer to avoid any late departures, Castellanos's openness to a top-flight return keeps the door ajar for suitors willing to test the Hammers' stance with a significant financial offer.
