Jadon Sancho is the subject of a surprise approach from UAE Second Division side Arabian Falcons, according to reports in the Daily Mirror. The 26-year-old winger is currently a free agent after his contract with Manchester United expired on 30 June 2026. The Dubai-based club, managed by former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, are reportedly preparing an offer to tempt the England international to the Middle East as he searches for his next destination.
The Arabian Falcons Proposal
The proposed move to the UAE Second Division would represent an unconventional career path for Sancho. Managed by Shelvey, the club is pitching Dubai as a base for unattached players to maintain match fitness. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Shelvey urged out-of-contract players to utilize their setup: "We've seen ex-Premier League players go months without a club and lose all their sharpness. There's no reason for that to happen. Come to Dubai, train with us every single day, get proper minutes, and be ready the second the phone rings."
Former Premier League defender Danny Simpson, also involved with the club, echoed the sentiment, telling the Daily Mirror that Dubai is "the perfect place to stay ready." While the tax-free environment and elite facilities offer clear incentives, no personal terms have been reported, and the playing level represents a significant drop from European football.
Search for a European Destination
The approach comes after a turbulent period for Sancho, who cost Manchester United £72.9m when he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. He spent the last three seasons on loan at Dortmund, Chelsea, and Aston Villa. Notably, Chelsea opted to pay a £5m penalty to avoid triggering a £25m obligation-to-buy clause at the end of his spell.
According to the BBC, Sancho prefers a move abroad, with former club Dortmund among the interested parties. He has also been linked with Fiorentina, Roma, and Palmeiras. The winger was last reported by the BBC to be training with non-league Flixton to maintain fitness while evaluating his options.
