Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Bournemouth winger Rayan as head coach Andoni Iraola continues his search for a specialist right-sided attacker. According to a report by TEAMtalk, the 20-year-old Brazil international has emerged as a favoured target to strengthen the right flank following the departure of Mohamed Salah.
Iraola, who took over at Anfield after a successful spell on the South Coast, is a vocal admirer of the young attacker. The pair worked together briefly at Bournemouth after Rayan arrived in England from Vasco da Gama in January 2026. Journalist Pete O’Rourke, speaking to Football Insider, noted the strong connection between the player and manager: "Iraola is a big fan of his, having worked with him before, so of course it is a possibility and Liverpool will be keeping a close eye on his performances for Bournemouth this season."
However, securing a deal for the highly-rated winger will not be straightforward. Rayan has a £130 million release clause written into his Bournemouth contract, which sources indicate will become active in 2027. If Liverpool were to trigger this clause, it would surpass their previous club-record signings, such as the £125 million deal for Alexander Isak in 2025.
While Liverpool previously spent £106 million plus potential add-ons to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman prefers playing on the left flank, leaving a vacancy on the right. Bournemouth previously declared the winger "untouchable" and are under no immediate pressure to sell, though European heavyweights Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain have also been monitoring his rapid progress.
