The 24-year-old, who recently committed to the Bundesliga side on a contract until June 2029, is valued by Dortmund at between €40 million and €45 million (£34.5 million to £39 million). No formal bids have been submitted, but all three Premier League clubs are assessing the player's availability to bolster their defensive options ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.

Capable of operating as a left-back, wing-back, or central midfielder, the Sweden international has enjoyed a rapid rise since Dortmund activated their option to sign him permanently from FC Nordsjaelland. Following that move, Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl praised his "intensity and flexibility" which "give us many options." With a long-term contract running until 2029, Dortmund are under no financial pressure to sell, meaning any Premier League suitor will likely have to meet their full valuation of up to £39 million to tempt the German club into a sale.

Each of the interested parties has a distinct tactical requirement for a left-sided defender.
