Assane Diao Diaoune To Manchester United: What We Know
Manchester United scouts have reportedly tracked Assane Diao's progress at Como, though the winger remains under contract until 2029 with no formal transfer approach currently confirmed.
Assane Diao is currently under contract with Como 1907 until June 30, 2029. The 21-year-old Senegal international joined the Italian club from Real Betis in January 2025 and has since become a pivotal member of their squad, featuring in both Serie A and the Champions League.
Reports emerging in October 2026 suggest that Manchester United scouts have been present for multiple Serie A matches to evaluate Diao's performances, with outlets characterizing the club's internal assessment as being highly positive. Other Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Everton, and Brentford, have also been linked with the winger. Sources close to the situation indicate that Como value the player between €50 million and €55 million and are under no financial compulsion to sell, given the length of his remaining contract.
While Diao was the subject of transfer interest during the previous summer window, no formal deal was completed. As of mid-October 2026, there is no verified information suggesting an official bid has been made by Manchester United or any other club. Future developments will depend on whether interested parties are prepared to meet the high valuation set by the Italian side. Monitoring for any official communication from either club or confirmation of a concrete bid from reliable sources is required to elevate the status of this story beyond speculative interest.
