Chelsea Value Nicolas Jackson At £60M As Bayern Munich Decline Option

Chelsea have set a £60m asking price for Nicolas Jackson after Bayern Munich declined to trigger their permanent purchase option for the striker.

Chelsea have set a £60 million (€70 million) asking price for striker Nicolas Jackson ahead of the summer transfer window after Bayern Munich officially declined to trigger their €65 million permanent purchase option. The 24-year-old forward, who joined the German giants on a season-long loan in September 2025 following a £14.25 million loan fee, will return to Stamford Bridge having failed to convince the Bundesliga club to make the move permanent. Despite interest from Serie A suitors AC Milan and Juventus, Chelsea remain firm on a valuation that reflects the player's length of contract, which currently runs until June 2033.

Bayern Munich Exit and Italian Interest

As first reported by Goal, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that Jackson will leave the club at the end of the current campaign. While he served primarily as a deputy to Harry Kane, his output remained efficient, recording 10 goals and four assists in just 1,150 minutes of action. Speaking to FootballTransfers, Jackson's agent, Diomansy Kamara, stated that the Senegalese international remains focused on the Champions League semi-final against PSG despite Bayern's decision. According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan and Juventus are exploring potential moves, though the Italian clubs are prioritising loan structures rather than meeting Chelsea's £60 million demand. This valuation is a clear attempt by the London club to recoup their total initial investment, having originally signed Jackson from Villarreal for €37 million in 2023.

Chelsea’s Shifting Forward Line

The decision to demand such a high fee is heavily influenced by Chelsea’s unique contract strategy. By securing Jackson to a nine-year deal in 2024, the club has maximised their leverage in negotiations, preventing the depreciation of his book value despite his year away in Munich. However, a return to the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge appears difficult. The squad has evolved during Jackson's absence; Joao Pedro has established himself as a central figure, and the club has already secured the arrival of Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg for the 2026/27 season. With the club currently in transition following the departure of manager Liam Rosenior, the financial necessity of meeting PSR targets may eventually dictate whether Chelsea maintain this £60 million stance or compromise on a structured deal with an Italian side.

Negotiations with interested parties are expected to intensify following the conclusion of the Champions League final in June.
