Real Madrid Reject Premier League Enquiries As Endrick Weighs Up Future After Lyon Loan

Real Madrid have blocked enquiries from Arsenal and Chelsea for Endrick, despite the Brazilian forward suggesting he is open to staying at Lyon or moving elsewhere.

Real Madrid have reportedly informed Arsenal and Chelsea that Endrick will return to the Santiago Bernabéu this summer and is not available for sale or loan, despite the 19-year-old forward suggesting he is open to a move. The Brazilian international, who is currently concluding a six-month temporary spell at Lyon, is viewed as an essential component of the Spanish champions' first-team rotation for the 2026/27 season. According to TeamTalk, the club has firmly rejected enquiries from the Premier League following a prolific stint in Ligue 1 that saw the teenager record seven goals and seven assists in 18 appearances.

Endrick's sudden availability and Lyon success

After playing just 11 minutes of football during the first half of the season under Xabi Alonso, Endrick joined Lyon in January 2026 on a straight loan with no option to buy. The move, intended to protect his place in the Brazil squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup, has proved highly successful, culminating in a Ligue 1 Player of the Month award in April. Speaking to FootballTransfers, the forward admitted his future remains flexible. "If I have to stay in Madrid, I'll stay; if I have to renew my contract here [Lyon], I'll renew it here," Endrick stated. "If I have to go elsewhere, I'll go elsewhere." The player originally joined Madrid from Palmeiras in July 2024 for a fee that could reach €70 million, but his lack of early opportunities led to reports of interest from Arsenal, who have previously targeted Madrid outcasts such as Martin Ødegaard.

Madrid’s tactical roadmap for the 2026/27 season

Despite the player’s comments, Real Madrid have no intention of sanctioning a permanent exit or another loan. The club’s hierarchy plans to integrate the forward into an attack already featuring Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior. According to reports from The Real Champs, the tactical staff views Endrick as a potential solution on the right wing or as the primary alternative to Mbappé in central areas. This versatility is crucial for a squad that has often lacked senior depth when rotating its front three. Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit, speaking on Fox Sports, described the teenager as a "diamond" who needs the "right environment to improve." With his loan in France concluding, Madrid believe the Bernabéu is now that environment, provided they can satisfy the player’s demand for consistent minutes.

The forward is expected to join Madrid's pre-season tour following the conclusion of his international commitments this summer.
